I’ve known Rory Scheepers for over 12 years now. He has always been a great friend, a loyal man, an incredible athlete, and an excellent coach.

When I met Rory, I was going through a difficult time in my life. I was unhappy with my body, unhappy with how weak I was, unhappy within myself and miserable in general. My whole life I have felt scared and intimidated in a gym setting, I always felt uncomfortable with the daunting machines and constantly feeling like I was being judged. I always felt out of place.
My goal was to lose weight and get stronger so I started training one on one sessions with Rory. It is still a work in progress but I’ve lost 10kg and I feel great!. I know training with him is something that is sustainable for me. It’s not just another membership that you end up not using. His way of coaching has improved my self esteem, mental health, and honestly just the way I think about and approach life in general. I would choose training with Rory over and over again. He really has changed my life!

Personal training with Rory has been more than building muscle and gaining strength. While losing weight and gaining strength have improved both my work life and daily life, I have also built confidence and an interest in learning how to feel my best. As a healthcare professional, I appreciate how much he has taught me about nutrition, sleep and even breathing. Sessions with Rory have been the most valuable investment in my overall health.

I first approached Rory in October 2021 having struggled with lower back spasms on-and-off for over 18 months, caused primarily by squatting. These had been managed in part by visits to various physiotherapists, but never overcome.
During my first couple of appointments Rory took me through a series of exercises and tests designed to diagnose the root cause. Having identified a number of contributing issues (which included hip-shift, underactive glutes, lack of hip IR and improper breathing/bracing technique), Rory designed a fully bespoke program of rehabilitative exercises, as well as a warm-up/primer which I still go through religiously before any lower body weights, conditioning or sport.
Rory’s thorough approach and meticulous attention to detail fill you with confidence and he is always happy to explain the ‘why’ as well as the ‘what’ and ‘how’.
I’m happy to say that it has now been 12 months without any recurrence of my back problems, which has enabled me to have my most productive year of training and competing in a long time. Thanks Rory!
